“We are all ready for our Christmas Break. (Wednesday, Dec. 21 is the last day of school for 2011.) The last matter of business is SEMESTER EXAMS. Students in grades 6-12 will be taking exams on Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 19-21. Two exams are scheduled for each day: Monday is periods 1 & 2 exams; Tuesday is periods 3 & 4 exams; and Wednesday is exams for periods 5 & 6. Students should report directly to the exam classroom. Students will have a break time from 10:00-10:15 a.m. During the break they may leave if they do not have a second exam, or students who do not have an exam during the first testing session may arrive during this break time for a test during the second session. Students who have completed all work, have not exceeded the absences allowed, and have maintained an “A” average for both quarters in a given subject will be exempt from the exam for that subject.
ALL STUDENTS, KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 12TH, will be dismissed at noon on semester exam days. Our After Care program will be open to those students who are registered. Students staying in After Care will need to bring their lunch.
Before you go full force into vacation mode, you may want to check the LOST AND FOUND, which is once again full and overflowing. Many lunch boxes, uniforms, coats, and sweaters are filling our shelves. These are items you may want over the break and since the office will be closed, you will not have access. Please take a peek before you leave on Wednesday.
CLASSES WILL RESUME ON MONDAY, JANUARY 9, 2012. Our second quarter officially ends on January 11, and report cards will be issued on Friday, January 20.
You are invited to join us at Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church for our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 o’clock on Dec. 24. Our Christmas Worship will be at 11:00 a.m. on Christmas morning.
The Awana Clubs for children will not meet during the Christmas break. Awana will resume on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.
