A Letter from the Director

It has been my joy and honor to lead Altamonte Christian School since 2017.  ACS is a dynamic community of students, teachers, and alumni who are making a difference in the world. Whether learning in the classroom, performing on the stage, competing in a sport, or serving in the community, ACS teaches students to think and understand the world around them by encouraging them to live lives of faith, character, and service.  Our students graduate prepared to succeed in the finest colleges in our country and are equipped to communicate effectively through both written and spoken word. Our desire is to free this generation to think and live well while inspiring heartfelt joy and interest in learning.

While faith-based academics are the central focus of the ACS experience, our students take away from it much more than that. We provide a full range of athletic and fine arts opportunities, as well as daily Bible classes, weekly chapel programs, local service projects, and international leadership trips. Through these avenues, and through our faith in Jesus Christ and His standard, we seek to help develop well-rounded young men and women who think and live well.

On behalf of our educators, students, staff and the entire organization, I’d like to extend an invitation to you to visit ACS so you can experience first-hand what our school is all about. Visitors to our school often comment on the warmth and fun they sense here. ACS is a community where students feel cared about and like they belong, where lifelong friendships are forged, and where friendships across grades, between faculty and students, and among families are part of our everyday experience. I hope your visit to ACS through our website informs you and inspires you to visit us in person.  Whether you schedule an appointment for a personal tour, enjoy a school play, or come cheer us on at a sporting event, we look forward to meeting you soon!

Senate Bill 1712, the Ethics in Education Act, became effective July 1, 2008, and impacts certain operational procedures for private schools participating in the McKay and Corporate Tax Credit Scholarship Programs. This Act adds new requirements to the employee screening process, school accountability to develop standards of ethical conduct, procedures for reporting misconduct, and mandatory reporting of child abuse, abandonment, and neglect.

Altamonte Christian School employees have an obligation and legal responsibility to report misconduct by instructional personnel and school administrators which affects the health, safety or welfare of a student. Report to one of the following administrators in person or by phone:

Pastor Scott Carlson, Executive Director

Mrs. Denille Brownlee, Director

Mrs. Pam Piorkowski, Director of Academics

Altamonte Christian School employees have a duty to report actual or suspected cases of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Employees have immunity from liability if they report and will have a duty to comply with child protective investigations. The statewide toll-free abuse hotline number is 1-800-962-2873
